Video: ARTKALLISTA is a bright trend in contemporary art created by the artist Callista Ivanova
2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2024-01-10 02:10
Callista Ivanova is a fresh name in contemporary art. In the literal sense of the word, her shining canvases have managed to see the world in four years, or rather, the world has seen the work of this artist. Callista is not trying to catch the viewer's attention with shocking, obscenities or playing at anonymity. Art should captivate art itself, she said.
There is no point in looking or inventing who she follows, because Callista does not imitate anyone and only goes her own way. To stop other people's attempts to drive her painting into any framework, she created her own term: ARTKALLISTA STYLE. Callista's art style. It sounds very individualistic - but the whole painting of Callista has a bright stamp of individuality.
Further, Callista Ivanova's story about herself and her work from the first person.
My mission is to show the beautiful facets of the world of contemporary art. For me, art is a fairy tale, dominated by beauty, style and luxury.
Today the world of contemporary art is wide and multifaceted. But a lot, in my opinion, is incomprehensible, repulsive, causing unpleasant and depressive sensations. At some point, the world of contemporary art began to acquire forms of mass degradation, where everything is confused, where there is no clarity, where images of negative emotions, emptiness and oblivion dominate, where they want to impose the bad on us as good. People are already tired of all this …
It seems to me that now the world of contemporary art is at a turning point, at the point of its rebirth. I think that everything superfluous and unnecessary will soon die out, as dinosaurs died out in their time. But at the same time, new forms, styles and directions will certainly appear - this is the law of evolution and development.
In my opinion, there will remain two categories of artists: academic artisans and creators from God. Yes, for me there is a category of artists whom I call Creators from God, there are very few of them, but they are. For me, an artist is a poet, to whom lines come from somewhere outside, and no one can scientifically substantiate this: why do these same lines come to someone, but not to someone.
All the images that I recreate on canvas are what I see in a dream or in real life at certain moments, sometimes even in the most unexpected and unexpected places. I have to carry a notebook with me in order to make sketches at the right time or put information in the safe in my head.
But even at that moment, I do not see the complete picture. I never know in advance what will turn out in the end. Therefore, the birth of a new picture is always a great mystery for me, like the birth of a child. A true master has a hand that is more than a hand; it feels, sees and does the way it needs to be done.
For me, a painting is not just a daub, a painting should carry a semantic load or fit into the interior; and even better when both happens.
The correct picture pleases the eye, surprises the guests, creates a certain atmosphere and gives a unique style. Artist Callista Ivanova.
If your picture evokes certain emotions and gives aesthetic pleasure, then this is the right picture. For me personally, great art - fascinates, captivates with beauty, helps to think.
When I started to create my works, I did not think that they would gain such popularity and arouse such interest. What I have created has been loved by many connoisseurs and artists. Today my works, my technique, my ideas are copied by thousands of people. These "copiers" are growing exponentially around the world. I think there will be a million soon.
I am Armenian myself. My grandfather is a musician, my great-grandfather is a decorator. Mom was also good at painting portraits. She grew up in a creative family. For my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, I want to leave a wonderful legacy. I really want to believe that looking at this or that work, they will draw the right conclusions, despite the kind of propaganda of sometimes immoral things.
Canvas is necessary for me to express those feelings that overwhelm me and show the beauty of pure color …
Once you open the doors and enter the world of beautiful art, you will want to stay there forever.
I want the audience, looking at my paintings, to penetrate the world of beautiful art, to feel what they have never felt, to see what they have never seen.
ARTKALLISTA: Thirst for beauty as a new style
Any new direction consists of two parts: a special technique and its own philosophy, concept, outlook on life. Callista's style philosophy is encoded in its name. KALLISTA is not only the name of the creator. In Greek, this word means the pinnacle of beauty, its superlative degree. Next to the word ART - "art" - we get a painting that is oriented towards beauty, which strives for beauty. Even, perhaps, who is literally looking for beauty - in everything that could give it to the eye of the artist and the viewer.
I hate vulgarity
Sensuality instead of lust. Thoughtfulness instead of sullenness. She denies the shocking presentation, stunning the viewer. How about stopping the eye because it feels good, not because it was hit with a scary or ugly image? Callista will prefer to charm in order to establish contact with her viewer. Sadness? Only light. Joy? Heartily.
Shine like style
Callista's technique combines abundantly used metallic paints - the oriental luxury of gold, the haughty coolness of silver - and clean, defiantly vibrant color combinations. One of my favorite colors is ruby red. One of the recurring motifs is ruby red lips. They evoke associations with how the stars of the golden age of cinema sometimes put "autographs" on their photographs with kisses - and this motive in Callista's paintings seems to become her second autograph.
Callista's paintings are generally characterized by bright femininity, the famous love of life of the Armenian people, combined with poetry, sometimes even dreaminess of images. No computer painting or cans of paint paired with stencils - but this does not mean that Callista gives up the opportunities that time gives her. Instead of oil paints, she uses acrylic paints. He works not only with a brush, but also with a knife, playing with the volume of the picture.
Another method of contact of her paintings with the world is color and light. Using metallic paints, she achieves an effect due to which, if the light changes, the shades will also radically change, conveying new nuances of feelings, shifting the accents in the picture, subtly shifting the general mood. Of course, this is not easy to convey over the Internet. The viewer can enjoy this unusual play of color and light only face to face, at an exhibition or by hanging a canvas at home. Callista's painting is not, as it is fashionable to say now, “digitalized” to the end. Virtual reality lacks volume and depth for these pictures.
Her technique is free enough that she does not limit herself to the canvas. Metal dishes. Cloth for clothes. Fashionable accessories. Her painting literally goes beyond - into the world.
Fyodor Filkov about ARTKALLISTA:
“Artist Kallista Ivanova is an innovator and author of a new trend in the world of contemporary art. Our organization holds numerous all-Russian and international art exhibitions, where various artists from different countries of the world take part, works of different styles and trends are exhibited in the exposition. Callista Ivanova has taken part in exhibitions more than once and won various competitions.
We confidently assert that we have never seen such unusual, bright and voluminous works in such an author's performance before. I was struck by the imagination of this artist, originality, uniqueness, love of life and art. I would like to note her inner world, clearly demonstrating on canvas - this is a craving for something beautiful, ideally honed skill, magical being and childishly naive representations of some images and details. Her works are filled with color, emotions and the luxury of life.
The paintings created by Callista Ivanova are golden, metal relief images, contours, details and bodies; clean, bright colors; textured surface. We can confidently state the fact that there were no such works in the world of contemporary art until this moment. These bright, golden, decorative paintings cannot be attributed to a particular style or direction. Accordingly, Ivanova Kallista Samvelovna is the creator and author of a new style in contemporary art. Her wonderful works open up a new path, a new movement, a new vision of contemporary art in general."

Frida Kahlo is one of the first names that come to mind when it comes to women who changed the history of visual arts. The fearless surrealist has acquired an almost mythical status. Contemporary art from Konstantin Zolotarev. Contemporary Christian art or icon painting style
The icon painting style created for the depiction of saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality. Therefore, in the icon, the portrait resemblance of a saint to a person who actually lived once is not in principle, since it reflects a transformed person who is in the upper world. But after all, the saints once lived on earth, they were like us, they ate and drank and had practically the same problems as modern man
