He begged her not to hang up at once … Almost two years of persistence and perseverance of the young man in love still melted the cold heart of Sofia Rotaru.

Love like a dream

September 22, 1968 was the happiest day in their long life together. For three days in the Bukovina village they sounded alternately Ukrainian and Moldavian songs, toasts in honor of the young, and mothers cried, looking at the happy children.

And after the newlyweds went to Novosibirsk, where Anatoly underwent an internship at the plant. Anatoly Evdokimenko and Sofia Rotaru spent their honeymoon in the factory hostel, but it seems that at that time they did not care where to be. The main thing is together. And later, when the couple returned to Chernivtsi, they were not embarrassed by either the cramped conditions or lack of money. They walked towards their goal hand in hand.

Several years after the wedding, when Ruslan's son was already growing up in the family, Anatoly Evdokimenko created the Chervona Ruta ensemble, and Sofia Rotaru became more and more popular. In one of her interviews, the singer admitted that without a husband she is like without a voice. Anatoly Evdokimenko cared, protected, protected, helped and always believed in her. And he echoed his beloved wife: he is nowhere without her. They could quarrel and get tired, but not once in their entire life did anyone think of parting, even for a while. They were happy. Together in joy and sorrow

In the mid-1970s, the family moved from Chernivtsi to Crimea on the advice of the doctor Sofia Rotaru. The singer began to develop asthma and needed a climate change. In 1997, the family was overtaken by another blow: Anatoly Kirillovich was diagnosed with an oncological disease of the brain. The singer did not believe it and during a tour in Germany turned to German doctors for advice. The doctors denied the preliminary diagnosis, but their verdict was disappointing. Anatoly Evdokimenko suffered a stroke as a result of overloads. A few months later, the first stroke was followed by a second, in 2001 - a third.

Sofia Mikhailovna threw all her strength into the treatment of her husband. She brought him the best doctors, found medicines. As soon as her husband got better, she went on tour and gave concerts, since her husband's treatment was very expensive.

During a tour in Germany, Sofia Rotaru was told about her husband's fourth stroke. She urgently flew to Kiev, where Anatoly Kirillovich was in the hospital. She found him alive, but he was already in a coma. Sofia Rotaru spoke with Anatoly Evdokimenko for several hours. He could not answer her, but she recalled the happiest days of their life together. And then he opened his eyes for a few seconds, as if saying goodbye to his beloved, and closed them forever.

For six months, the singer went to her husband's cemetery every day and decided to leave the stage forever. A real salvation for her was her son, who persuaded her mother not to leave her life's work. He reminded her of the words of her dad, who always said: "Your place is on the stage!". And every day he tried to convince her that dad would always be with her, help and support her. She may not see it, but she will definitely feel it.
