Vladimir Zhdanov - a modern artist who draws inspiration from admiring native nature and uncomplicated village life … His paintings are charming in their simplicity: idyllic landscapes, vivid still lifes, sketches of peasant life. His works breathe warmth and tranquility, half-forgotten memories of the holidays spent with his grandmother, or of student trips "for potatoes."
Yesenin called himself "the last poet of the village", but the rapture of the village "theme" has not passed in art to this day. The creativity of Vladimir Zhdanov is proof of this. We will not compare the power of poetic talent, but still one thing is clear - the master puts sincere feelings and experiences into his paintings, trying to convey subtle smells and sounds by means of artistic expression. This is the hanging silence on a hot afternoon, and the monotonous buzzing of a bee over a bouquet of wild flowers, and the warm bubbling of a samovar at the window of a hut, and the murmur of water in a well …
Vladimir Zhdanov was born in Omsk in 1959, during his university years he managed to change universities three times, having studied in Omsk, Krasnoyarsk and Leningrad. He was educated in academic painting. Vladimir Zhdanov lived in Siberia until 1999, often painted landscapes, telling about the life of a taiga village. In order to be able to work in the open air, he even invented special technologies for painting in oils and watercolors, in which the paint did not solidify at a temperature of -40 degrees Celsius.
In 1999 he moved to St. Petersburg. At this time, he began to depict luxurious royal residences and park ensembles in paintings, travels to ancient Russian cities, visits fortresses and monasteries. All this is also reflected in his work.
