Another film festival in Cannes has ended. The main award of this important event in the world of cinematography this time was taken by a film called "Parasites" from South Korea, on which director Bong Chung Ho worked. The jury agreed that this particular work at the 72nd film festival should take away the Palme d'Or.

The film "Parasites" was shown immediately after the film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", which was created by Quentin Tarantino and was included in the festival program at the very last moment. The South Korean director turned to the press and asked not to reveal the intrigue of his work. Special attention should be paid to the fact that Bong Joo Ho became the first director from South Korea, who managed to win the main prize of the Cannes Film Festival. With his work "Parasites", he confirmed that he is a sharp critic and an outstanding director.

During the award ceremony, Antonio Banderes received his award. Thus, the best male role, which he played in the film "Pain and Glory", directed by Pedro Almodovar, was awarded. This film was in the lead for a long time, but in the end, the director of this motion picture never received an award for his work. The award for Best Actress this time was taken by Emily Beecham. This Anglo-American actress won an award for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival. Emily received the prestigious prize for her role in the film "Little Joe" directed by Jessica Hausner.

The Grand Prix of the Cannes Film Festival was won by the Franco-Senegalese director Mati Diop for her work with the title "Atlantic". This is the first feature film directed by the director, in which the main characters are Senegalese women forced to send their men to work in Europe.

The directing prize went to the brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, all thanks to their work on the film Young Ahmed, which raises the theme of Islamic radicalism. The jury prize this time was awarded to two works: the film "Bakurau" directed by Giuliano Dornel and Kleber Mendoza Filho, as well as the film "Les Miserables" directed by Laj Lee. The Cannes Film Festival Special Prize was awarded to Palestinian director Elia Suleiman for his film, This Must Be Heaven. The Best Screenplay award went to a film titled "Portrait of a Girl on Fire". It tells the story of a young artist who lives in 18th century France.
