Cats are amazing animals! Cute, fluffy, so funny! From time immemorial, among many peoples, cats were revered, considered sacred, they were worshiped. And for good reason! They have a lot of interesting qualities. Mustachioed pussies are very smart, and in cunning they are not inferior to chanterelles from fairy tales. Many people believe that cats, unlike dogs, are not loyal animals. This is also not true. Other positive qualities are not alien to them either. For example, Quilty the cat, from a shelter in Houston, has shown a unique kindness to his friends at the shelter.

We all know cats can be absolutely insufferable! Sometimes they leave us “surprises” on the carpet, sometimes they ruin our furniture. But there are also naughty cats of a completely different caliber. One of these is Quilty. Now with Friends for Life Animal Rescue and Adoption in Houston, it turns out this cat has a very unique skill set. And they all earned the nickname that the shelter staff now call him: jailbreak! Quilty, apparently, possesses not only outstanding intelligence, but also tremendous strength. Because he constantly creates problems for the shelter employees by somehow releasing all the pets to freedom!

Jennifer Hopkins, an employee of the shelter, says: “Quilty came to us as a kitten, in 2012, with his mother and brothers and sisters. We always use thematic names for our litters (ex: cheese droppings, Harry Potter droppings, etc.). And his litter was named after the characters in the novel "Lolita", his mother was Lolita, and his littermates were Humbert and Charlotte. Quilty was born in a closet, and even being a blind kitten, two days old, already managed to gnaw a hole in the closet. Once he even escaped, and he was found in another room, under the table. Quilty from the very birth possessed a certain spirit of "adventurism".

This tireless cat loves to let cats out of the elder's room. Several times a day. His friends were put back, and Quilty was left in the lobby as punishment. But he has absolutely no sense of shame! In addition, the roommates missed their restless and adventurous companion very much. After all, thanks to him, they had the opportunity to enjoy a free walk around the orphanage.

Jennifer Hopkins also spoke not only about Quilty's problematic talents, but also about how he returned to their organization: “Quilty was taken away from us as a kitten. After he was "adopted" and moved into the house, he quickly learned to open the door to let his new friend, Winston the dog, out into the yard and outside. Unfortunately, a few months ago, Quilty's family had to move and were unable to take him with them. Then he came to us again. According to the rules of our organization, we always provide people who want to take an animal, any help we can. We also help with resources - to feed, provide medical assistance, give advice on behavior. Unfortunately, we were unable to help the owners of Quilty. They still refused to take him with them. So he returned to our Friends for Life program to find his new home. We, in front of our pets, have a lifelong commitment - we must find a family for them."

Jennifer, however, also stressed that although their organization is quite tolerant, they will never tolerate someone insulting Quilty's owners for giving him away. “Quilty very quickly settled into the cat room here at the shelter, and, apparently, learned how to open the door (which was most likely a game, since he had round doorknobs in his old house, and we have lever handles here). We arrived in the morning and the room is empty. When we watched the video from the surveillance cameras, we realized who was the culprit. Unfortunately, this original video has been lost. But Quilty gave us a lot of opportunities to watch him do it! WE even came up with a very innovative broom and rope door lock! But this shameless person slips out several times a day, following the volunteers or visitors who have entered the room. It is simply impossible to keep the sly guy!”Quilty is the“star”of Instagram: employees posted a story about him and his photos and videos. Posts with him are gaining more than ten thousand likes.

To find Quilty's new home as soon as possible, volunteers write: “If someone is looking for a very smart cat who gets along with dogs but doesn't get along with closed doors, you should definitely meet Quilty. Come to us and take it home. Please….

They also posted the text on behalf of Quilty himself: “I am an intelligent, energetic, calm guy. A bit shy. Having a friendly dog at home is great! Not sure about small children. I've never played with them before, so I don't know if I like them. I know that I love to open closed doors.

our article.

When I see a closed door, it kind of challenges me. I work hard on it and eventually open it. Remember Quilty's name and make an appointment for me. I'm ready to go to your house for the night. And, also, I'm ready to stay forever if you want. The shelter loves Quilty very much. Therefore, they want to find him a new home. Everyone needs a family.
