Unfortunately, animal shelters often have to deal with the fact that people leave sick and unkempt animals at the doorstep of the institution at night, so as not to collide with the staff. So it happened this time - the workers of the shelter in Gardenville saw in the morning a carrier for animals, standing next to the front door. They could not see who was inside - they could only see a mess of dirty wool, somewhat reminiscent of dreadlocks.

Liz Begovich, the head of the shelter, says that at first they thought it was a dog - it is difficult for long-haired dogs to take care of their own coat. The animal inside refused to come out or turn, so the workers had to take the carrier apart. When they removed the top of the carrier, they saw a large, unkempt cat lying in front of them, frightened and clearly in a state of terrible stress.

“We've never seen a cat in such a terrible state,” Liz admits. The matted hair of the pet hung in lumps, so that it was difficult for the cat to move. Because of this specific appearance, the workers named the cat Bob Marley. The cat was taken to the veterinarian, where the animal was given a calming injection in order to temporarily relieve stress and have time to cut all excess hair.

It turned out that Bob had problems not only with wool, but also with being overweight. Apparently, the previous owner kept the cat in a cage or carrier, bringing food and water right under the cat's nose, so that he almost did not move and did not have the opportunity to care for his own fur. It's hard to imagine how Bob's life went for all of his ten years, but his previous owners definitely cared little for the welfare of their pet.

“We cut 2 kilograms of wool,” says Liz. - “This is a whole bucket! And so he woke up, felt lightness, and sits like this, looks at the table, clearly thinking that now he can jump upstairs. And I look at him like that and think - nooo, Bob, you can't."

Fortunately, new loving hosts for Bob were found almost immediately. However, the question still remains open, who brought the poor cat to such a terrible state. Security cameras captured a man who brought the carrier to the shelter. This, of course, could not be the owner of the cat, but just a good Samaritan, but Liz believes that good people will not come after the closure of the shelter. “Usually, if a person leaves an animal outside of working hours, it is not casual. Usually good Samaritans who just find a poor animal by the road do not do this. We would love to know what is behind this whole story. Where Bob was kept, there may be other animals, and who knows what condition they are in now."

In fact, Bob is very lucky to find new owners so quickly. Usually animals have to stay within the walls of the shelter for a long time, but when they still manage to find a caring family, there is no limit to their happiness.
