On July 13, the famous theater and film actor, People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Pugovkin could have turned 95, but he has not been among the living for 10 years. He lived a long and eventful life, played in more than 100 films, won popular popularity and recognition, but many trials fell to his lot. The audience did not even know what it cost him a dashing dance in "The Wedding in Robin", and how he was given other comedic roles.

Mikhail Pugovkin was born in 1923 into a poor village family. The school was far from home, and his parents needed constant help with the housework, so Mikhail graduated from only 3 classes. After the mother fell seriously ill, the family moved to relatives in Moscow - only there it was possible to have an operation. The boy was only 13 years old, and he was not hired anywhere, then he added a couple of years to his documents and got a job at the plant as an apprentice electrician.

After work, he did what brought him real pleasure - he played in the drama club. Once he was seen on stage by the director of the Moscow Drama Theater, director Fyodor Kaverin and invited the 16-year-old artist to join his troupe. This is how Pugovkin's theatrical career began.

The actor made his film debut in 1940. Filming of his second film ended on June 22, 1941, the day the war began. And on June 24, the actor volunteered for the front. He served as a scout in the 1147th Infantry Regiment. In October 1942, Pugovkin was seriously wounded in the leg, gangrene began, and there was a high likelihood of amputation. Fortunately, this was avoided, but in the future, the sore leg gave him a lot of trouble and created problems on the set. After the injury, Pugovkin was discharged. Returning home, he got a job at the Moscow Drama Theater, and then became a student at the Moscow Art Theater School. True, the actor did not finish his studies there - in the second year he was expelled for academic failure.

Since 1960, Pugovkin decided to complete his theatrical activities and devote himself entirely to cinema. Most of his films are comedies, in which he usually got supporting roles. But he turned them into real masterpieces, thanks to which he earned popular love and fame no less than the actors who played the main roles in these films.

Viewers are accustomed to seeing him on the screen cheerful and perky, although often such roles were not easy for him. For example, in the movie "Wedding in Malinovka" he had to dance dashingly. The dance called in the comedy "vtustep" (from the English name of the dance "two steps") on the screen lasted only a minute, and it took a month and a half to learn it. Pugovkin danced so that none of the film crew had any idea about his severe front-line injury. The actor did not regret that he got a supporting role: "".

On the set, situations often happened that cost the artist both mental strength and health. For example, while working on the film Sportloto-82, Pugovkin was badly burned. His third wife said: "". After that, the actor walked with a cane and even asked the director to replace him on the set. And on the set of 12 Chairs, Pugovkin caught a bad cold when he chopped chairs in the cold wind. As a result, he developed sciatica. Only his relatives knew about all these problems - the actor was not used to complaining about difficulties. Even Pugovkin formalized his disability only in the early 1990s.- before that, he did not tell anyone about what happened to him in the war.

In 1991, Mikhail Pugovkin's second wife, singer Alexandra Lukyanchenko, with whom he lived for 32 years, passed away. The actor's daughter said: "". After that, he went to shoot in Yalta and stayed in Crimea - he could not return to Moscow, where everything reminded of his ex-wife. After some time, he met in Yalta the administrator of the Soyuzconcert Irina Lavrova, who became his third wife and remained with him until his last days.

Behind the scenes "Weddings in Malinovka" there are many interesting moments left: how the dance "vtustep" appeared, and the inhabitants of the whole village became actors.
