The creators of the series "Game of Thrones" decided to open the castles of the kings of the Westeros universe for visits, turning them into an amusement park after the shooting of the series is completely completed.
Anyone will be able to take an excursion to the King's Landing Palace, the Starks House of Winterfell, and the headquarters of the Night Watch. These excursions will become available as early as next 2019, as representatives of the HBO channel are talking about. Visitors to the park will be able to see in detail not only the scenery, which is located in Northern Ireland, but also the pavilions of Linen Mill Studios.
It was decided to leave all weapons, sets and costumes in the facilities where the shooting of the series "Game of Thrones" was carried out. It will be a kind of museum, where you can get acquainted with the props that were used during the filming of different seasons. During the guided tours, fans will be able to learn how the series was created. Archival materials will be available to visitors. They plan to use special software designed to acquaint the guests of the park with how all the special effects were created in the TV epic.
Representatives of the HBO TV channel said that the public would be surprised by the scale of the Game of Thrones attractions. At the moment, the channel is actively cooperating with the Northern Ireland Department of Tourism. Together they are engaged in the creation of a tourist route, as well as its promotion. This project will be more profitable than Northern Ireland, as it should additionally attract a considerable number of tourists who are loyal fans of the series.
The new amusement park is due to open after the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones airs. Earlier it was said that they plan to release it no later than May next 2019.
It is worth remembering that all the events that are associated with "Game of Thrones" attract the attention of a large number of people who managed to fall in love with the series itself and its characters. One of the largest events was the exhibition, which took place in the fall of 2016 in London. The first traveling major project dedicated to this television story was held in several cities in the United States of America in 2014, while filming for the fourth season began. The traveling exhibition traveled around the country and abroad for nine months. Its visitors were able to see more than 100 exhibits.
