Fashion house designers Saigon Socialite released a new collection of women's shoes, in which the traditions of the ancient Vietnamese art of wood carving are successfully reflected through the prism of modern luxury.
New collection of women's shoes on a wooden platform "Dragon shoes" designed for fashionistas who consider it more of an object of self-expression than just a part of their wardrobe. For lovers of fast walking, such ankle boots will not work. LanVy Nguyen developed the design of "dragon" shoes, combining fashion trends and Asian traditions.
The process of making one pair of shoes takes 18 days. During this time, the design of the model is developed, and then the master cuts out the wooden sole. The platform height reaches 10 centimeters. Each pair is unique as the patterns on the sole are not repeated.
The art of wood carving has been prevalent in Vietnam for over 1000 years. Unfortunately, factory production has practically supplanted private workshops. The craftsmen who create wooden platforms live in the Forbidden City. Due to the limited access to the city, it is possible to produce only 2,000 pairs of these wooden shoes per year. Therefore, orders for "Dragon shoes" on the website of the fashion brand are scheduled for many months in advance.
New York craftswoman Agata Olek presented her summer collection knitted shoes.
