Beautifully designed bright flower arrangements? But not at all! These are installations made of ordinary deflated balls. And they are all hand made by the talented artist Susie MacMurray. Never before have deflated balloons looked so attractive, and it has never occurred to anyone that balloons that have served their role can get a second life.
Susie McMurray is a multi-talented person who is an artist, sculptor, and a master of artistic and architectural instillations. She plays the role of an alchemist in a wide variety of materials, combining material, form and context in a deceptively simple way to stimulate the audience's associations.
To create her installations, the artist uses a rather original material: balls, bird feathers, rubber gloves. Her works seem simple due to the common material used, but they are quite complicated and time-consuming to perform. Suzie McMurray builds her textures in layers, weaving and stitching many objects and things together to create complete installations that serve as exquisite decorations for the home interior.
After a successful career as a musician, Susie McMurray graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA in sculpture and is now a creative sculptor whose work is on display in galleries around the world.
