Watercolor painting artist Evgeniya Gavlina presents a view of the world, similar to the view of a short-sighted person - through a veil of rain. The city in his paintings appears blurred, vaguely distinguishable, but at the same time devoid of all embellishments that prevent him from seeing its true appearance. The city, as we have never noticed it, in a hurry escaping from the rain, and shows the artist's watercolor painting. 53-year-old Evgeny Gavlin came to Moscow from the Far East many years ago. In the capital, he learned to be a graphic artist and stayed permanently. Currently, the artist actively participates in exhibitions, and his works are bought by collectors not only from Russia, but also from Great Britain, France and the USA.
Evgeny Gavlin's watercolor painting is diverse, and all his works deserve attention. Most of Gavlin's paintings are landscapes, and the artist also loves to paint flowers. In general, he prefers a riot of colors in his paintings, and watercolor allows you to achieve this.
No less interesting is the series of his paintings, which are not like all the others - they are bright and saturated with colors. In them, a world full of bright colors is covered with a haze of autumn rain. As can be seen from all the artist's paintings, autumn is his favorite season, and he loves both golden autumn and rainy autumn.
It is curious that when an artist paints a golden autumn, he turns to landscapes (parks, groves), and when he depicts an autumn rain, he is interested in city views. Evgeny Gavlin's technique resembles the autumn blots of the artist ZL Feng. However, Gavlin does not allow himself to fill his paintings with too bright color spots, like a Chinese artist, or rather deliberately avoids them. It is important for him to show the viewer only the outlined outlines of houses, silhouettes of people and how the element of rain washes away everything unnecessary.
