The gallery of strange creatures, embodied fears and sinful desires in Alexandra Bodeller's canvases will easily carry you to the farthest boundaries of fantasy. Each canvas is a window to the Other, where only imagination decides everything. Beautiful, strange and unusual paintings by the St. Petersburg artist open the door to the alluring world of the supernatural.
Demons and monsters, unearthly landscapes - everything is fantastic, but subtly familiar. Most artists avoid everything related to modern mass culture. Alexandra does not follow prejudices, and very organically takes the best out of her. In the anatomy of demons, you can recognize the promoted "chitinous" style, and the elements of clothing are made in the traditions of modern fantasy (with the light submission of J. R. R. Tolkien, the fairy-tale Worlds have become a separate topic of creativity - look at the drawings in the style of fantasy from Nell Fallcard and read a little about dragons in contemporary art). The use of "ordinary" forms for unusual paintings clearly shows the independent character and adherence to principles of the artist. Alexandra does not deny modernity, she creates according to its laws: the image recognizable by the masses is intended only to convey the meaning. The plots of many works are permeated with a completely non-stereotyped idea of loneliness, which oppresses any creature, any World. A large place in her work is given to personal experiences: for many years using male pseudonyms in a professional environment, the artist now defends the idea of perfection and self-sufficiency of the feminine principle (which is a little over the edge in the idea of gender equality … but such are her views).
Mixing different cultures, from where the artist isolates the necessary images, creates an intriguing collective image of the otherworldly. In addition to Christian ideas about the underworld, elements of the mythology of Ancient Egypt and sometimes Central America are used.
Many of Alexandra Bodellem's works can be seen on the site. Despite her youth (the artist is only 34 years old), she has already achieved a lot in her professional career. Many of her works are the result of fruitful collaboration with other artists. Continuing to experiment, Alexandra is engaged in graphics, sculpture and computer design. In addition to fantastic canvases, she paints wonderful portraits, where a touch of the mystical is only slightly muted.

Vector graphics with brush and paints. Unusual paintings by Francesco Lo Castro
The paintings of the Italian-American author Francesco Lo Castro resemble geometric vector drawings, computer graphics, and bear little resemblance to the "living", "real" painting as we are accustomed to see and perceive it. But be that as it may, Francesco is an artist who uses oil and acrylic paints, airbrush and silk-screen printing in his work. He draws mainly on a wooden base, fixing the drawings on the wood with epoxy resin. As a result
Why Marat Died in the Bathroom: The Greatest Mystery of Neoclassicism and the Mystery of a Revolutionary's Illness
Jacques-Louis David is one of those who created a revolution in the art of the 18th century. He pioneered a new direction of painting, called neoclassical, and his landmark work "Death of Marat" contains both political overtones and the personal tragedy of the deceased journalist. Why is the hero of the picture depicted in a bathtub and what have scientists and doctors been arguing about for 200 years?

The mystery of the bag of the Gods: the mystery of disappeared civilizations, over which modern scientists are fighting
Scientists around the world are struggling with a riddle: how is it possible that millennial images of the Anunnaki, which show a god with a mysterious bag in his hand, are found all over the world and even in Mesoamerican civilizations. Is it a coincidence that this mysterious handbag in the hand of God, which can be seen in the ancient Sumerian paintings of the Anunnaki, is found in several cultures in America and in Göbekli Tepe
Symbolism, surrealism and fantasy, or the whimsical paintings of Dragan Ilic
The surrealist works of the Serbian artist Dragan Ilic (aka Di Vogo) combine seemingly incompatible things, in which fantasy motifs and bizarre images are closely intertwined against the background of symbolic landscapes fanned by a metaphysical atmosphere. All this and much more was invented by the author for a reason, because, thus, he not only drew a fine line between reality and fiction, but also showed the viewer how far p
