Not only Santa Clauses and anecdotes are bearded; we can see many bearded men both in history books and in everyday life. You can talk for hours about the importance of facial vegetation in world culture - or you can not talk, but silently revise the usual human ideas about beards and their role. This is exactly what I did Niqi Segers, who created a gallery of the most unusual beards.
It's easy to interpret the artistic meaning of this project. We are used to the fact that a beard is a symbol of old age, wisdom, in other words, power. In a patriarchal society of a green youth, whose beard has not even grown to his knees, no one would take it seriously, and they would not trust him to cut a mammoth's liver either. Even God in the pictures is depicted exclusively in the form of a gray-haired, brown-haired old man - and for good reason.
So what's the point of the project Niqi Segers? With these frivolous fake beards, he challenges the deep foundations of the human psyche and archetypes, as, for example, figurines of insects made from human hair. "Do not believe in these respectable men with beards! Their gravity and power is just a ridiculous illusion!" - signals the artist with a beard made of stickers, glaze, foam and moss.
However, moss is a special story. It is here that the message takes on a different meaning: after all, a beard made of plants and moss was attributed to mysterious creatures from the thickets - the woods. This is because their power does not originate in the human hierarchy, but in the most ancient nature. Accordingly, a person with a false beard made of moss should inspire mystical awe (and not laughter at all, as one might think).
Now that we have understood the psychological basis of this project, we will no longer be surprised at how much facial hair can change a person. And let the false beards away Niqi Segers they will definitely not add masculinity to anyone, but their bearer can easily be identified in any crowd of bearded men.

Rogvolodovich, not Rurikovich: Why Prince Yaroslav the Wise did not love the Slavs and did not spare his brothers
In the official historiography, Yaroslav the Wise for a long time appeared to be an almost sinless ruler, the creator of legality in the Russian lands. In our time, he is already accused of sending several of his brothers to the next world in order to occupy the Kiev throne. But was it only the desire for power that drove Prince Yaroslav? If you look at the history of his family, then everything that happens is more like revenge … to his father. Bloody revenge for bloody atrocity
She did not promote the Germans, did not ruin Russia, did not leave the course of Peter: what is Anna Ioannovna accused of in vain?
Anna Ioannovna, niece of Peter the Great, went down in history with a terrible image. For what they just did not reproach the second ruling queen of Russia: for tyranny and ignorance, craving for luxury, indifference to state affairs and for the fact that the dominance of the Germans was in power. Anna Ioannovna had a lot of bad character, but the myth about her as an unsuccessful ruler who gave Russia to be torn apart by foreigners is very far from the real historical picture

Viral retro photos of animals made popular by fake captions
The worldwide virtual network feeds us with new portions of information every day. By tradition, a person is inclined to believe everything that is written. However, the example of some viral posts shows that today it is better to follow the "trust but verify" rule. Especially when it comes to such favorite topics as children and animals. Pool-non-pool. Fake Swimming Pool art project by Leandro Erlich
Look into the pool and see people in it walking freely along the bottom, laughing, talking, breathing, jumping and even dancing - something from the realm of fantasy. But those who had a chance to visit the city of Kanazawa and visit The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art will disagree with you, because they were able not only to see this spectacle with their own eyes, but also to become its direct participants, jumping, running and laughing enough at the bottom of the pool, under the water column. In this muse
