The only thing that is "alive" in this art project is the containers in which the fish swim. Riusuke Fukahori poured transparent resins into wooden boxes and glass jars, on which he painstakingly painted his fish with acrylic paints, layer by layer, which made it possible to achieve the volume and incredible realism that amazed the public's imagination.
The optical illusion resulting from these magical arts is so strong that you want to feed the fish, and touch the water with your finger - how wet and cold it is. But be careful not to mix it up! The artist put his fish in a variety of containers, starting with large shells, in which tiny fry "swim", ending with a huge wooden basin, where large gold fish with gorgeous tails "live". The same fish lived in Riusuki Fukahori's home aquarium for seven years.
Three-dimensional work is a favorite technique of the Japanese artist. These and other paintings, drawn by the author in 3D format, were exhibited at the ICN gallery in London.
