In order to become the invisible man, the physicist Griffin, the hero of the novel by H. G. Wells, had to invent a special machine. Works of art are so good that they give people the opportunity to expand the horizon of the possible. Chinese photographer Liu Bolin (Liu Bolin) aka Invisible Man (The invisible man), managed to hide from others, without using any magic or photoshop!

Earlier on the website Kultorologia.ru we have already written about the works of Liu Bolin, in which the photographer demonstrated the disappearance of people in China. It seems that this time Bolin decided to disappear himself, and the result of these "optical" experiments was a series of works inspired by the collaboration with the world famous fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, as well as with the trendsetters - the brands Gaultier, Lanvin, Missoni and Valentino. Works under the general title "Lost in Art" are presented at the artist's fourth solo exhibition at the Eli Klein Fine Art gallery in New York.

Recently, Bolin's works have enjoyed immense popularity. In a series of photographs "Urban Camouflage", the artist captured shots depicting people who, like chameleons, mimic the environment. Urban landscapes of China, France, Italy and New York often "swallow" people, depriving them of their individuality, brightness, erasing the differences between an individual and a faceless crowd.

While working on the Lost in Art series, Boligne collaborated with such iconic personalities in the fashion world as Jean Paul Gaultier and Elber Albaz (Lanvin), Angela Missoni, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli (Valentino). In four fantastic photographs, Bolin made an attempt to "get lost" among the collections of fashion designers, thus combining the world of haute couture and fine art!
