In English-speaking countries there is a popular game "Find Wally", the essence of which is to find a funny person hiding in a picture. A Chinese artist offers us something similar. Liu Bolinwho skillfully disguises itself against the background of surrounding objects.
Liu Bolin has attracted the attention of modern art lovers more than once or twice. This Chinese artist can be safely called a "chameleon man", because he is even better than the aforementioned animal, he knows how to disguise himself and merge with his environment, it does not matter if it is nature, some famous landmark or city streets.
A new series of works by Liu Bolin was recently presented as part of his solo exhibition at the Eli Klein Gallery in New York. This time, the artist is hiding in various famous locations in the United States of America, from the East Coast to the West, from New York to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Liu Bolin began his New York project back in 2011, creating a series of photographs in which he masquerades as famous objects in this metropolis.
In 2013, the master drew attention to California, where he spent several weeks creating works in a style already known to the whole world. The artist painted his body in such a way that its elements coincided with the surroundings, becoming a continuation and organic part of the latter.
Works from these two series, as well as individual photographs taken elsewhere in the United States of America, are presented to the public by Liu Bolin in his exhibition at the Eli Klein Gallery, which runs until July 21 this year.
Within its framework, Bolin also decided to arrange a presentation of his new project, named "Mask". This series of works consists of several masks that depict the artist's face, stylized with various objects, such as cans of soft drinks, road signs, or even fast food.
