A twin museum of the French Louvre will open in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, by the end of 2019. In reality, the new museum will not be much like the French Louvre and would rather become a branch of it than a copy. The project began in 2013. The total cost of the project is estimated at US $ 653 million. The area of the museum complex together with all adjacent territories will be 64 thousand square meters.
At the moment, the construction of the museum is already underway. A complex is being built on the artificial island of Saadiyat. Subsequently, two more branches of famous museums will be built on it: a branch of the American Solomon Guggenheim Museum, as well as the Sheikh Zayed National Historical Museum.
According to the published project, the new museum will "lie" on the water. This effect will be achieved thanks to the surrounding canals of the Louvre branch. Moreover, the museum will have a huge glass dome. All this should make visitors feel like they are in the middle of the open sea.
Modern technologies that will be used in the arrangement of the museum will not only make it comply with all international standards. They will take it to a new level of technical development. The greatest attention is paid to the climate control system. The fact is that it will have to provide not only the comfort of visitors, but also the safety of exhibits, many of which are very picky about the environment.
Recall that the Louvre in Abu Dhabi and the giant photo frame in Dubai were included in the list of the most popular in 2018. Both are currently under construction. Work at both sites will be completed by the end of this year.
