If you do not know who Andre Rush is, then the last thing that might come to mind when meeting him for the first time is his belonging to the world of culinary. Most of all, he outwardly resembles an award-winning bodybuilding athlete, but certainly not a chef who can prepare an exquisite dish in a matter of minutes. We invite you to find out who Andre Rush is and how he became a freelance chef of the White House.
Hero photo
In June 2018, Vivian Salama posted a photo on his social media page showing chefs preparing a Muslim dinner for Donald Trump. It would seem that there was nothing unusual in the picture, only the appearance of one of the chefs attracted the attention of subscribers of The Wall Street Journal reporter.
A pumped-up man with huge biceps looked very exotic in a plaid apron and a chef's uniform. Andre Rush literally woke up famous: the very next morning, acquaintances and strangers began to write him messages. Friends congratulated, unknown people were interested in what exercises he does and what he eats.
Since then, attention to his person has not waned, and the freelance chef of the White House is happy to share his secrets and take part in television programs and talk shows.
Towards a calling
Andre Rush grew up in Columbus, Mississippi and was an ordinary child as a child. However, he possessed incredible strength as early as adolescence. His teammates nicknamed him a horse, comparing Andre's strength and speed to the qualities of the Clydesdale, the Scottish cold-blooded horse. The future chef never got involved in fights, as he could easily put an adult man on his shoulder blades. During training, he squeezed more than twice his own weight.
During his high school years, Andre Rush was also engaged in wrestling. When the coach brought a professional wrestler to practice to practice some movements, he could not budge the teenager. The wrestler then said that Andre was endowed with an irresistible force.
After leaving school, Andre went to the army. His future seemed quite certain: he was to become a guard for important persons. But he chose a completely different path and in 1994 mastered the profession of a cook. He became a versatile chef who knows how to cook absolutely everything: gourmet pastries and chocolate figures, excellent steaks and delicious salads. At first, Andre Rush cooked for the command staff at the Pentagon, and soon got into the White House kitchen. The unusual chef admits that there are two things he likes best about the profession: the fellowship of chefs, when everyone is ready to help colleagues, and the opportunity to eat deliciously.
Secrets of André Rush
He does eat, by conventional standards, quite a lot. That there is only one breakfast, during which he eats 2 whole hard-boiled eggs and another 10-22 eggs whites. Plus special peanut butter with added protein, quinoa and milk, a solid serving of Greek yogurt, oatmeal and dietary turkey meat. However, he eats the latter not only for breakfast, but also uses it as a snack during training. During the day, he eats fried chicken and eats as many as four.
To maintain his physical shape, Andre visits the gym every day, and also does 2222 push-ups every day, without a single pass. This number is due to the participation of the chef in the # 22PushupChallenge program, which aims to draw public attention to the problems of former military personnel. Very often, former military men, unable to find themselves in the civilian sphere, simply commit suicide.
Naturally, André Rush's clients pay attention to his excellent shape and ask the chef's advice. He invariably replies that his secret is very simple: there can be no excuse for refusing to train. Andre himself trains according to a special schedule, according to which three days are given to work out each part of the body, then the cycle is repeated.
Life is joy
After leaving the army in 2016, Andre Rush consults colleagues and cooks himself during big events in the White House, and in his free time he trains and takes care of his family and children, of whom Rush has four: two adults and two are still schoolchildren.
Andre is happy to share with his guys the secrets of a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition. He believes that children need to be taught what you yourself believe.
Andre Rush is in great physical shape, but he is not just a jock, as one might imagine. He has several degrees in business management, hotel restaurant and culinary arts. In addition, he holds certifications in household management and ice cutting, and has completed sommelier courses in Denver.
The White House chef helps veterans, supports those who were injured and suffered psychological trauma during the service. He can be found in restaurants and hospitals, community centers and military bases, where he comes as a participant in the TV program "Chef in the City".
André Rush knows how to enjoy life and shares this skill with his viewers and fans. And the number of Internet memes about this amazing person speaks of his ever-increasing popularity.
The name of Ivan Kharitonov, the cook of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II, went down in history as a symbol of unparalleled loyalty to his profession, the Tsar and the Fatherland. After the revolution, he could simply quit his job and stay with his family, but he could not leave the royal family in a difficult time. Ivan Kharitonov followed Nicholas II into exile, where he was shot along with the imperial family and other servants who remained loyal to the king until the very end.
