Hemingway family - hereditary depression

On July 1, 1996, America was shocked by the suicide of the successful model and actress Margot Hemingway. The woman, who was only 42 years old, took a lethal dose of sleeping pills. Shortly before that, she appeared in a program for people who survived depression, and gave advice to those who fell into the clutches of this brutal disease. And although Margot claimed that she was cured and returned to life, in reality everything turned out to be much sadder. Depression won.

Unfortunately, this case of suicide in the Hemingway family was not the first. Margot's grandfather, world famous writer Ernest Hemingway, committed suicide on July 2, 1961 at the age of 62. He did not leave a posthumous letter, but the family knew that old man Ham suffered from obsessions, fears, pressure surges, bad mood. His granddaughter passed away exactly 35 years later.

The writer's father, Clarence, was very happily married and loved his children. Nevertheless, after learning that he was developing gangrene of the legs from diabetes mellitus, and the only way out was amputation, he shot himself.

Ernest's brother, Lester, also plagued diabetes. Having lost his leg, he could not come to terms with it and put a bullet in his temple. The sister of the writer, Ursula, when she learned that she was terminally ill, fell into a deep depression, and then poisoned herself, taking a lethal dose of medicine.

The Gandhi family, who incurred the wrath of fate

The curse of the Gandhi family in India is still legendary today. It is said that the violation of caste law was the cause of the terrible events that persecuted the representatives of this famous family. Indira Gandhi, who became the first female prime minister in India, was the wife of a descendant of Iranians. Her sons did not lag behind in concluding "forbidden marriages" - one (the youngest, Sanjay) married a girl from a Sikh family, and the eldest, Rajiv, married an Italian.

It is not known what the matter is - in violation of "caste subordination" or in political intrigue, but after the order to suppress unrest among the Sikhs, Indira Gandhi was killed in an assassination attempt. The murderers were her own bodyguards, professing Sikhism.

Sanjay Gandhi crashed while flying a sports plane in 1980, shortly after he was appointed as Secretary General of the Indian National Congress. Attempts to find out whether the crash was rigged or whether the plane crashed for some other reason were unsuccessful.

Rajiv Gandhi died in 1991 in an explosion with a suicide bomber. This terrorist act was a reaction to the introduction of Indian troops into Sri Lanka.

Marlon was married several times, in the third marriage his daughter Tarita was born. Her fate was very sad - when the girl was 25 years old, she hanged herself. Schizophrenia was cited as the cause. Perhaps the impetus was the story with her lover, who was shot by Christian while intoxicated. For the murder, he received a prison sentence and spent 5 years in prison. Christian died of pneumonia at the age of 49.
