However, at first, Braginsky did not approve of the candidacy of the Armenian actor - his appearance and accent were too expressive, which was not supposed in the script. But when Mkrtchyan appeared at the auditions and uttered the first phrases, he managed to charm all the members of the film crew, and Braginsky not only agreed to give him the main role, but also added additional scenes and dialogues special for him to play up his colorful national features. The very appearance of Boryusi-Frunzik in the frame next to Galina Polskikh looked comical. He looked even more hilarious in the image of a hero-lover, in scenes with a young homeless woman Liza, who almost destroyed his marriage with Marina Petrovna. For her, this film work was one of the first, and at first she took everything that happened on the set for granted - after all, professionals work, they know better. But in one of the episodes, the young actress suspected something was wrong - Frunzik Mkrtchyan, who did not like takes very much, himself demanded to repeat without end the scene of his hero's arrival to the new darling.
