Dutch photographer Joel Tjintjelaar transforms urban architecture into mesmerizing abstract works of art. He purposefully "paints" bridges and towers, piers and skyscrapers in strict black and white, depriving them of a variety of colors and shades, so as not to distract people from the main idea that he seeks to convey to their hearts with his amazing series of monochrome photographs. Joel Tjintjelar willingly explains his position on the color scale of photographs. He believes that as color is removed, the essence of objects, situations, landscapes and characters becomes more visible. When there are no flowers that distract, seduce and "impose" their interpretation of the plot, the only thing that can touch the strings in the soul and win the heart is the emotion that this plot contains. Therefore, the author prefers black and white, monochrome photography. She's more honest, he thinks.
Studying criminal law, working as an IT manager, Joel Tjintjelar never gave up his dream of becoming an architect. But over time, I found a great way for myself to realize this dream without giving up my current profession. This way became a passion for photography, in particular, photography of the cityscape, modern architecture, as well as architectural monuments and sights of those cities in which he happened to visit. Taking long exposure shots, choosing unusual angles and shooting points, and then turning the color photo into black and white, Joel manages to achieve a stunning effect, thanks to which his work is perceived and looks like masterpieces, works of art that you cannot take your eyes off. There is something special about them, something magical and attractive.
Together with other photographers who value minimalism and monochrome, Joel Tjintjelaer founded the art gallery BWVision. On its pages you can see the entire series of his amazing architectural photographs in black and white.

“Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what filling you will get” - this phrase from the movie “Forest Gump” has become a catch phrase for a long time. And even if we are not talking about a chocolate assortment, but about a completely "understandable" bar of this delicacy, then there is often something to be surprised at. Underwater photography that doesn't look like underwater photography: a photography project from Adeline Mai
We have written about underwater photography more than once, but the peculiarity of this series of photographs, created by 20-year-old girl-photographer Adeline Mai, is that the water in it does not look like water. Rather, they are people immersed in the ether, who appear before us in an extreme degree of purity and harmlessness
White on white. Monochrome photography by Anil Akkus
Outside the window is white white! But it was not snow covered, and not poplar fluff, and even feathers from the pillow covered everything around in an even layer. These are the impressions from the unusual photography of a young Turkish photographer named Anil Akkus. His favorite color is white, which is why you will see other shades in the photographs of this author in exceptional cases, and only to shade one white object from another, and both objects from the background. They say that a black cat cannot be found in a dark room. Welcome to sv
Black and white landscapes in the style of minimalism, or simplicity, brought to perfection
“Minimalism - simplicity, brought to perfection …” - this can be said about the work of Josef Hoflehner, whose main theme is calmness, pacification and absolute harmony. You can admire his works indefinitely, enjoying the monochrome world of silence and serenity, where any image is like a clever trick of an illusionist - everyone sees what he wants to see, but the intrigue is everywhere
