I suppose there are no parents who would not spend kilometers of film and gigabytes of computer memory on their adored child, saving every month of his life in photo and video albums. Australian photographer Bill Gekas, the father of a five-year-old baby, is from the same parent category. But as a photographer, he reacted very creatively to this parental responsibility, because his daughter's photographs look like old paintings from the times of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Velazquez, Caravaggio … Gekas's portfolio consists entirely of photographs-paintings, which capture his wonderful baby. Quite a baby, she, nevertheless, perfectly “plays out” the roles offered to her by her “director” father, trying on the images of peasant women and court fashionistas, intelligent shy women and merchant daughters, enviable brides and simple medieval girls with deep, sad eyes … It seems that she lived all these lives, and not just posed in front of the camera.
Classical painting of the 17th-18th centuries is distinguished by the sincerity and truthfulness of the subjects. They have no place for speculation and distracting details, and the composition is as simple as it is ingenious, as modest as it is elegant and graceful. Bill Gekas not only copied old paintings, he created such "new creations in the old way", which fit right next to the famous canvases like "Girl with Peaches" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring". And they will also be admired, savoring every detail of the perfect composition, every shade of the perfect color scheme.
You can see the entire series of photographs featuring Bill Gekas' little daughter on the photographer's website.

And from our window the red square is visible! Sounds good, but not true … Since you can see only a little of the streets from our window … How many can boast of beautiful, picturesque city views from their windows? Alas, this is not the case. At best, the windows overlook the neighboring house or playground. And at worst, I don't want to talk. American artist and designer Garrett Miller has come up with a way to entertain those whose views from the window leave much to be desired. Naughty and funny
