Unfortunately, for too long time, in the construction of civilian objects, functionality was brought to the fore. And beauty had to be neglected. That is why there are faceless buildings all over Russia, which, at times, are simply unpleasant to look at. But the situation is gradually changing for the better. New, beautiful structures are being built. And the old ones get new look, as happened recently with a technical building in the courtyard of one of the Tyumen schools.
Industrial painting is one of the most popular contemporary fine arts. Moreover, he got to our latitudes. For example, throughout Ukraine, offices of the cargo transportation service "Night Express" are decorated with works by artist Daria Marchenko. And in the Russian city of Tyumen, in the courtyard of one of the schools, a huge painted … library has recently appeared.
The old gray technical building, one of its facades overlooking the schoolyard, will no longer frighten children with its shabby appearance. After all, it was worked on by the members of the art group "Color of the City", who turned this hitherto impartial object into a real work of art!
They painted the gray façade, giving it the appearance of a giant bookshelf with volumes several meters high. This is a collection of poetry by Pushkin, and "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, and books about Tyumen, and the works of Tyumen authors.
Dmitry Zelenin, the author of the idea of this unusual graffiti, explains his work as follows: “For two years I took my children to a prestigious gymnasium. For two years in a row, the wild discrepancy between the inner world and the outer content of the gymnasium courtyard tore my eyes. A terrible, incomprehensible building stood with its bare gray back to the schoolchildren. By the beginning of the third academic year, I already clearly knew what I wanted and how to do it. The book is a symbol. A book is a message. The inscriptions on the spines cannot be all from the bulldozer. They must carry a thought. The first - Tyumen - is my property. Your city, love it, remember it. With a larger-scale message, I would have been stuck for a long time, but I saw the cover of a friend on Facebook - Nikolai Gogol, "We need to love Russia." You couldn't say better."
