If suddenly you find yourself in China and on the street or in the subway you meet a man with a dog on a leash, then it is immediately clear that you are an animal lover. What if instead of a dog there is a head of cabbage on a leash? Here, too, everything is clear - before you is an artist and master of performances Han Bing.
Walking the Cabbage is a project in which the author walked through several cities in China with cabbage on a leash. Naturally, such actions could not go unnoticed and not arouse the curiosity of passers-by. “Is it true that cabbage is your pet? Why are you insulting cabbage? What do you want to say with your performance? - these and other questions Hyung Bing has to answer constantly. And although at first glance, the performance may seem eccentric and completely meaningless, in fact it touches on rather important problems of modern society.
One side of performance is mainly related to the Chinese society itself. Traditionally, cabbage is one of the staple foods here, especially for the poor. In other words, if Hyun Bing lived in Russia, then instead of a vegetable vegetable, a loaf of bread would be tied to a leash. Can you imagine the reaction? However, Hyun Bing does not at all seek to shock the public or provoke people to aggression: with his performance, he raises the topic of modern social values.
Another aspect of Hen Bing's work has no national coloring and touches upon issues of individual freedom, the concept of "normality" in society and the reaction of others to the actions of other people. “I hope that one day the day will come when what I do will not be art, but rather an affirmation of the ability of each person to choose the occupation they want,” the author explains. In short, who said that cabbage on a leash is not normal?
Heng Bing is a Chinese author who works in the genre of installation, video, photography and raises in his works the problems of modernizing modern Chinese society. On our site you can get acquainted with another work of the author - a photo project "City Amber".

What does a Ukrainian girl look like who walks around the city in vintage outfits of the 19th century
In the modern world, fashion is changing so rapidly that few people really manage to keep up with it. A girl from Ukraine, the heroine of our today's publication, deciding to break all the rules of the marathon for fashionable novelties, made a knight's move: instead of running in step with the times, she decided to turn 180 degrees and return to the times of a bygone era. And, frankly, the game was worth the candle. For the result was unpredictably overwhelming and contagious

What the British found in cabbage: unusual body art from Carolina Roper
A human body instead of a canvas - this is the attitude of avant-garde artists who are happy to transform the bodies of models into real works of art. It is noteworthy that on Russian soil, futurists first started talking about body art, perceiving body decoration as an introduction of art to life. Back in the 1910s, the futurist artist Larionov suggested that face painting was the beginning of an invasion. Modern masters of body art have proven that this integration is taking place by leaps and bounds, with
