As you know, fame and fortune are very, very capricious ladies, but the American photographer Geof Kern was lucky: he managed to please both the first and the second. He is also known in Europe, but we somehow not too well known, it's time to correct this annoying omission!
Perhaps the most surprising thing about Geof Kern's work is its versatility. I have never seen so many different cycles and works in general (I am already silent about the styles in which all this miracle is performed). It cannot be said that all his works are masterpieces, unsurpassed in quality and craftsmanship, but the master's photographs look quite original, somehow modern and often new.
The photographer lives and works alternately in New York and Paris. The master says that he takes "such pictures, each of which tells its own little story." Jeff's works are imbued with something that I personally would call the European (or rather American) spirit, but, to be honest, to me personally, the palette of some of his photographs seems to be some kind of gray, everyday. As if the gray city with its rush and fatigue is not enough for the author.
But, of course, the works of the photographer are very original and definitely deserve those numerous prizes and all kinds of regalia, which the grateful audience has hung on the author.
