Each work of the British Nikki Farquharson is always a celebration. Her illustrations - bright, reckless, energetic - give positive and good mood to every viewer and make life more fun, at least for the few minutes that they are watched.
The most striking series of Nikki Farquharson's works are the Mixed Media Girls collages, which are a combination of photographic images and drawings in crayons and ink. The works seem sweet and innocent, but at the same time, they exude a sharpness and pent-up energy that can be far from safe if it bursts out. The title of the project also invites the viewer to reflect: whether the words "Mixed Media" refer to the technique of performing works, or to the characters of the heroines themselves.
“The Mixed Media Girls was inspired by the original photographs,” says Nikki Farquharson. - I change the environment of the models, including abstract details in bright colors and backgrounds with small patterns. The end result is often playful and eclectic. Depending on the original photo, the girl can become both the basis, the main element of the future collage, and just a part of it. According to Nikki Farquharson, collages “for myself” and “for the customer” are somewhat different things. In the second case, the model should always come first, and the author's illustrations serve only as a spectacular addition. When Nikki works on her own, there is no such rigid framework.
Nikki Farquharson is a 24-year-old designer and illustrator. She lives and works in London and graduated from the University of the Arts London in 2008. The author's clients include Benefit Cosmetics, Computer Arts, Fujifilm, Missbehave Magazine, Myspace, Nike78, Paradecka, Sims Snowboards.

Probably, in childhood, many were fond of applique work, and if they were not fond of it, then in the fine arts lessons in elementary grades, such pictures had to be done by everyone. Ethno illustrations by artist Anneli Akinde in mixed media format
The artist Anneli Akinde, whose work we will tell you about today, is not at all a relative of African shamans, and did not spend her youth in the jungle, among the aborigines of local tribes, playing tam-tam. The girl was born and raised in the Baltic States, studied graphics at the Estonian Academy of Arts, but her paintings are permeated not by their native culture, but for some reason exotic
