Pretty girls, and especially professional models, are often called dolls. And so the artist Jennifer Watson decided to develop this theme. She has created a series of real dolls that resemble top models.
Expensive outfits, erotic photo shoots, millions of contracts, constant flights, alcohol, drugs, nervous breakdowns - this is the everyday life of top models. All their lives, these girls strive to be as similar as possible to dolls - unchanging and irreproachable.
But dolls are still not people, but only a kind of copy of them. This is what the artist Jennifer Watson wanted to emphasize, creating a series of paintings in which famous models are depicted as dolls.
Before us are the most famous photographs of the most famous models. But they depict not the models themselves, but their puppet versions with all the ensuing consequences - plasticity, rough joints and folds.
Looking at a series of these paintings, one involuntarily ponders what motivated Jennifer Watson more in her creation: love for art or envy of top models?
