American photographer Alex Wein loves to travel and, of course, shoot in different parts of his home country. The story would be pretty ordinary, if not for one "but". Every time the photographer captures himself … standing on his head.
Wayne's headstands photography project began with a typical trip around the country in 2011. It was then that he came up with the idea to capture himself in such an unusual pose in order to achieve the effect of unreality in the pictures.
“I love this effect,” says the photographer, “for each new shot, I choose a landscape typical of these places. Sometimes it's a lawn in front of a private house, sometimes a Chinese hill, and sometimes it's a cemetery! We can only guess what other places Wayne will visit in the future.
Alex Wayne was born in Oakland, California. Professionally engaged in photography, sculpture and video art. Graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012, a contemporary art and design college located in Baltimore, Maryland. She is currently studying surrealism and working on new projects.
