It seems that wire mesh is such a mundane thing that it is simply impossible to use it as a basis for a work of art. But lately the authors seem to have agreed: the weirder and inappropriate the material, the more eagerly they try to turn it into something beautiful and amazing. Ivan Lovatt with his work proves that from the netting, you can make not only fences for garden plots, but also very talented sculptures.
Ivan Lovatt was born in Nairobi, Kenya and spent his childhood in England, Africa, Wales and Germany. Most of all, the boy loved to explore the nature around him and draw birds and African landscapes. As an adult, Ivan began to work in the design field, but art was always present in his life: the author devoted all his free time to the study of various techniques and materials. Finally, a few years ago, he settled on sculpture. According to the author, he likes to make accessible and meaningful works.
Of particular interest to Ivan is the creation of works from a chain-link mesh. By folding it in layers, twisting and shaping it, the author gets abstract and realistic sculptures that for some reason really want to touch: probably to make sure that they are really made of wire. Some of Ivan Lovatt's favorite themes are wildlife and celebrities.
“The sculptures of the author represent his personality,” says the official website Ivan Lovatt. "His works are distinguished by their honesty, they are often quirky and funny, but at the same time you can always feel their integrity and the author's concern for his characters."
Ivan Lovatt currently lives and works in Australia. The cost of his sculptures ranges from $ 9,000 to $ 18,000. Considering the initial cost of the netting, not bad at all, right?

Graffiti from colored cups on a mesh fence. Art project of the Multistab studio
Estonian design duo Multistab has taken a completely new approach to creating street art, in particular, street art on fences, but without the use of appliqués and paint cans. The guys "master" exclusively mesh metal fences, and decorate them with pictures made exclusively from … multi-colored plastic cups. The result is something that resembles a mosaic, where each cup is a pixel, only large and on the fence

And the new mosaic, on which the author is working today, probably cost him more than one hundred cups of strong aromatic coffee, since he lays it out from a million coffee beans
