Today, as well as a week ago, on Cultural Studies there is a selection of the best pictures from National Geographic. Kocatepe Mosque is the largest mosque in Turkey and is attended by about 24,000 worshipers. Its construction lasted 19 years, and was completed by 1987. It was built according to the models of the Sultan's mosques in Sinan, and the decoration was made in the Ottoman style. Most of it is decorated with marble from the inside, and is also decorated with stained glass windows, gold plates, crystal chandeliers. This mosque is considered one of the oldest Muslim-type buildings.

The penguins living in Antarctica have their own ice ship. Probably, a strong wind tore a piece of ice from the coast, and now the sailors inevitably drift on a snow-white ship on the icy waves of the ocean.

The Masai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya may not be the largest, but perhaps the most famous. It is famous for the large number of animals that inhabit it, as well as the annual migration of wildebeests. It takes place in September and October, and during this period more than 1.3 million wildebeest have been moved. However, it was not the wildebeest, but the Kenyan zebras that caught the photographer's attention. He managed to witness an extremely rare sight, watch two striped black-and-white males fighting, and also capture the most picturesque moment of the fight on camera.

Yosemite (a national park in the USA) is considered a truly amazing place. Even if the weather is not happy, in this picturesque park it is impossible to be discouraged and suffer from autumn depression. All that is needed for a good mood is to open your eyes wider and carefully look around.

The fertile land in the Omo Valley in southwestern Ethiopia is home to the Hamar tribe. The women of the tribe are proud of their national clothes and accessories. The traditional dress code for unmarried Hamar girls includes elegant cowries (necklace rings, seed and glass bead necklaces) and ornate goatskin clothing.

Nature is the best artist, designer and sculptor. But only an experienced maestro knows how to handle this omnipotent "instrument". He absolutely does not need color correction, toning and other retouching in a graphics editor. After all, you can take a picture of a butterfly against the background of a sunset so that natural light will do all the design work on its own.

When planning a trip to Italy, experienced tourists cannot afford to miss such a picturesque place as Abruzzo. After all, it is here that you can enjoy the clean air, admire the unique nature and variety of landscapes, the beauty of lakes, waterfalls, mountain ranges, as well as the richest flora and fauna. A third of Abruzzo's territory is made up of national parks and reserves. It was here that the photographer captured delicate wildflowers in the morning sun.
