Experimental artist Federico Uribe, about whose surreal pictures made of laces for shoes and sculptures from colored pencils readers of Culturology have already heard a lot, has invented yet another non-standard way of drawing. Now he decided to use old cables and wires in a multi-colored sheath and the most ordinary office scissors instead of paints and brushes. The artist named his new art project " Contectado"Due to the specific material for creativity, the works from this series look voluminous, almost sculptural bas-reliefs, but the author prefers to call them not even installations, but paintings. This is explained by the fact that in his experiments with unusual objects for creativity, Federico Uribe does not care follows the canons of the classics of figurative and abstract art, contriving exactly what to "paint" portraits and landscapes with multi-colored scraps of wires and cables from non-working technology. In fact, the Contectado art project consists of large-scale large-format mosaic paintings, but if you look at them from steps, they appear to be drawn.
Gradually expanding the "palette", in the paintings for Contectado the author uses not only wires from household appliances and electronics, but also related parts that have become unusable. For example, Federico Uribe found a place in the picture with a beautiful city landscape for the cases from old consoles and telephones, and various plugs, connectors and capacitors serve as small decorative elements on each of the author's unusual paintings. Sculptures twisted from wires. The work of Barbara Licha
Like a spider's web, in which small moths and midges get entangled and perish, people are pulled in by a web of wires that are spread out where household or office equipment stands. At work and at home, we flounder in wires from computers, scanners, printers, microwaves and washing machines, chargers for phones and cameras … And the artist and sculptor Barbara Licha prefers to twist wires on her own, creating amazing sculptures from them
Sheep from telephone wires. Sculptures by Jean Luc Cornec
It seems that in the herd of creative lambs, created by the hands of master sculptors, there is a replenishment. More recently, we talked about sculptural lambs from Colin's Creatures made of ceramics, and now new curly-haired artiodactyls have appeared on the "pasture". But this time they are made of telephone wires, and the main "shepherd" is Jean-Luc Cornec
"My life with wires" - the story of one designer
Many designers have tried to wrestle with wires, and many have managed to create a number of good designs that solve this perennial problem. However, I haven’t heard about the drawings on wires yet
Masking the wires
Artists are not limited to installations and paintings alone, designers are not lagging behind them. To solve the problems of wires, you do not need to hide them under the carpet, buy the same color as it or the floor … You just need to brainwash a little
