It is believed that it is best to photograph animals and children. Both those and others in the pictures are so touching that the success of the photograph is guaranteed. The third place in the list of safe plots is taken by water. Its changeable structure is so mysterious that even if you photograph the same pool several times, all the images will turn out to be radically different. Photographer Alix Martinez decided to combine the two themes into one, creating a unique collection of Children under the Water.
A whole group of creative kids at the sight of the camera play in the pool, go in for sports, read, drink tea, dance. I must admit that children are Alix Martinez's strong point. It is them that the author loves, knows how and continues to shoot for many years. And this is taking into account the fact that for the first time the camera fell into her hands at the age of 10. Since then, the girl has not parted with the equipment, filming everything that comes her way. But the best, according to critics, are still "underwater" photographs.
As Alix Martinez herself says, she almost drowned one day, trying to catch the right frame. Previously, the girl managed to hold her breath under water for 25 seconds. Today the photographer spends calmly in the pool for up to 2 minutes without rising to the surface. Seth Casteel, who shoots dogs underwater, has the same exposure. Only he periodically has to dodge the fangs of his charges, who sometimes do not see where they are diving.
