We don't know another Harry Potter … More precisely, we didn't know until the artist Angela Rizza from New York did not depict her own alternative vision of this character in the illustrations for the work of J. K. Rowling. In Angela's bright, emotional drawings, the familiar Harry Potter looks like an absolute stranger. There are no round glasses, the usual slightly insane look of burning green eyes, you can hardly see the scar under the lush hair … But still it is he, the hero of Gryffindor and the enemy of Slytherin, who defeated the Basilisk, found the philosopher's stone that stood against the Dementors. Harry's friends and comrades are also hardly recognizable. But in general, the atmosphere and the emotional component of the drawings are true, perhaps somewhat unusual. In the same way, with ink and watercolors on paper, and then with the tools of graphic editors, Angela Rizza depicted the characters for another cult work, the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
According to the young artist, her work combines a classic and modern approach to illustrating fairy tales, since the main source of inspiration for her is folklore and those fantastic stories on which she grew up, which she heard from her mother and grandmother, read in the books of her childhood … Today she draws illustrations for modern works of art, and tries to weave into them elements of folklore and fantastic stories that she brought with her from the country of her childhood.
