Few people are surprised by the drawings in the sand. Most of them are flat geometric shapes. However, New Zealand artists are transforming the beach into an alternate reality by creating 3D compositions on the sand.
Until a few years ago, people admired 3D drawings on the asphalt. Today it is already mainstream. Artists are looking for more and more new forms of art display in order to once again surprise the sophisticated viewer. This happened with a group of New Zealand enthusiasts (Ben Harkins, Lucia Lupf, David Rendu, Constanza Nightingale). Inspired by the 3D drawings on the asphalt, they decided to do the same, but on the sand.
In their work, artists use the same principle as those who paint on the floor. When you look at the drawings from a close distance, they are nothing more than just lines in the sand. But, if you go further, then three-dimensional pictures already appear in front of the audience.
Ben Harkins notes that they take great pleasure in creating such optical illusions. And it doesn't matter that in the evening they are washed away by the tide … This makes the drawings fragile, fickle, and therefore more valuable.
The Brazilian artist uses sand in his art. He creates figures in the sand with a pendulum.

However, the artist and sculptor Calvin Seibert is not intimidated by the future of his work, and for six years in a row he has been decorating the sandy beach
Geometric shapes made of sand and soil: original floors by Elvira Wersche
A substance like sand is ideal for art - free-flowing, light, colorful. And travelers sometimes bring bags of sand and earth from different parts of the world as a keepsake. “No memory, it's time to create” - this is probably what the German artist Elvira Wersche thinks of, who makes original floors from sand and soil from all over the world, instead of stuffing chests of drawers with these bags
