Photographer and photo artist Matthew Carden is a staunch supporter of healthy eating. Here as popularization of natural food he did a series of amazing works with the general title Small world, to create which he used foods approved by nutritionists.
Many artists use food in their art. Examples of this include Rebecca Foster's poppy seed paintings, Jasmine Schuller's offbeat Sweet Meat desserts, and Sung Yeon Ju's Wearable Foods edible fashion collection.
But photo artist Matthew Cardin uses products in his work not to give it originality, but to popularize a healthy lifestyle, says ecological magazine "EcoByt" … After all, one of the keys to good physical shape and health in general is proper nutrition. It is also promoted by Cardin in his Small World series.
In Small World photographs, Matthew Carden depicts a variety of scenes from people's lives. For example, you can see a procession of priests walking through the forest, firefighters in the ashes, farmers working in the fields, climbers conquering another snow-covered peak, a scuba diver preparing for diving, cyclists riding in nature, and many other situations.
It's just that healthy, natural food products are used as an entourage in all these scenes. For example, the role of trees in the forest is played by mushrooms, the role of green fields is played by broccoli, snowy peaks are replaced by cheese, and the ashes are replaced by dried fruits.
Matthew Cardin explains the meaning of his unusual photographs from the Small World series: “Through these photographs, tiny dioramas, we have the opportunity to see and appreciate the beautiful details of the products we consume. My work is addressed to both adults and children, they encourage people to learn about healthy, wholesome nutrition."
