Significant benches by Veronika Tzekova

Benches are more than just outdoor furniture that allows tired people to sit and relax for a while. With the skillful work of a creative person, the usual street bench can turn into the present piece of artthat carries a serious message. This is exactly what the benches created by Veronika Tzekova … Take, for example, the street benches created by Veronica for the small Italian town of Biella. This installation was named "Space Nrgzer # 4 soft benches". Previously, Biella was a fairly wealthy village, earning a large amount of money with the help of its wool spinning industry. But now this industry is going through hard times.

This fact did not pass by not only the population of Biella, but also Veronica Tsekova. She installed on one of the central streets of this town very peculiar benches, created just from Biell yarn. It turned out very nicely, but very impractical. After all, it is simply impossible to sit on such benches.

But that's the point! Veronica Tsekova thus clearly shows that due to the crisis in the local wool spinning industry, the population of Biella can no longer rely on the yarn produced here as a reliable and fundamental source of income.

Another "bench" project by Veronica Tsekova called "Dissuasori" was carried out in the Italian city of San Remo. Near the entrance to one of the churches there, she installed several stone seats, stylized as dice. Thus, Tsekova tried to show the contrast between the general, well-thought-out urban environment and the personal ideas of a particular person about the organization of space.

As if in support of this message, put by Veronika Tsekova in her project "Dissuasori", but without knowing it, the church demanded to change the appearance of the installation, removing the dots from the stone cubes that turn them into dice.
