In due time telling you about three-dimensional street drawings chalk on the pavement, we mentioned the name Julian Beever, a British artist who deftly manipulates the most common crayons to transform the gray and dull asphalt into something worthy of admiration. Mentioned - but did not talk about his work. Well, it's time to fill this gap. Like his eminent colleagues like Kurt Wenner and Edgar Mueller, Julian Beaver also creates three-dimensional optical illusions right in the middle of the street or on the roadway, making passers-by gasp in surprise, and cars slow down with squeals. so as not to accidentally enter a huge hole from which hungry zombies crawl out, or not to crash into a sailboat that, by the will of fate, appeared in the very center of the road, swaying regularly in a puddle lake. And Beaver has a myriad of similar plots-rallies.
As with any art, there is room for improvisation in 3D street graffiti, but all the same, every work is preceded by a thorough preparation. The author draws the details on paper, paying special attention to the anamorphic projection - it is she who is responsible for the subsequent three-dimensionality of the picture, which arises when you look at it from a certain angle. Not finding this angle, a person will simply see a stretched, deformed color spot that vaguely resembles a drawing.
Julian Beaver is known to have been drawing sidewalks for over 10 years and has developed his own drawing technique. Having received his art education in England, the master uses only English crayons. Three-dimensional street graffiti of Beaver at one time decorated the streets not only of Great Britain, but also of the USA, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands … And a three-dimensional advertisement of Pall Mall cigarettes - yes, our hero of asphalt does not disdain commercial graffiti - once we saw the streets of Russian capital Cities. More of the artist's works are on his personal website. The master received his artistic education in England and uses English crayons for his work …

Natural phenomenon: Peach Lake asphalt in Trinidad
Lake Peach Lake, located in the southwest of Trinidad, is famous for being one of the natural "deposits" of asphalt. This is one of the largest bituminous pits in the world, with an area of about 40 hectares and a depth of about 80 m. A characteristic feature of Peach Lake is that objects that somehow fall on the surface of the lake gradually sink to the bottom, those that have lain for several centuries among the molten asphalt may float to the surface from time to time
