The philosophy of the East not only relaxes a person, giving him the longed-for peace and harmony with his inner and outer world. She also gives him inspiration, energy and enlightenment, without which it is impossible to create art and share with the world the beauty that is concentrated within you. English painter and sculptor Sukhi Barber She spent 12 years in Kathmandu studying Buddhist philosophy, and therefore sculptures imbued with both European and Asian creative spirit. However, there is much more Asian than European in them, and not so much in the technique of performance, as in images and forms. According to Sukhi Barber herself, her bronze sculptures are designed to cross the boundaries between the cultures of the East and West. Embodying peace and compositional balance, the works of the British sculptor present complex Eastern philosophical ideas with the simplicity and clarity that makes them accessible to Western audiences.
Working with such a hard and cold material as bronze, Sukhi Barber managed to fill it with warmth and spirituality, making it as airy and light as possible when it comes to metal. These sculptures not only helped the artist to achieve zen, calmness and measuredness - she believes that this visualization of the strength of mind and harmony of the body can help other "seekers" as well.
