More than anything, Canadian director and composer Renaud Hallée loves to experiment. In his experiments, he combines what he can do best - video and music. Band videos or taped concerts? No no and one more time no. Everything is much more original, interesting and new. However, it is better to see the works of Renault Halley once than to select beautiful epithets and comparisons to describe them. Trust me - it's worth it.
Reno Halley's first experimental video, "Sonar", has been hailed as a perfect example of how you can "listen to music with your eyes." The visual part of the animated film is extremely simple - dots, circles, lines and numbers on a black background. But here, as often happens, the main thing is the idea. All these forms represent notes and the time between them: elementary simple, but incredibly effective!
Another work by Renault Halley is no less original. In the video "Gravite", the author throws various objects on the floor, and the sounds they make form a kind of melody. Renault uses a variety of things to implement its idea - sports balls, plates, cutlery and even a small TV. So if you ever want to break the dishes or throw out old equipment in a fit of anger, watch Renault Halley's video and do it creatively.
Renault Halley lives and works in Montreal, Canada. He started his activity recently - in 2009, but has already managed to demonstrate his work at thematic festivals in France, Spain, Brazil, Belgium and Canada.
