Thomas Woodruff is the author of many projects, but his "Solar System (The Turning Heads)" is perhaps one of the most amazing and memorable works of the master. These images, illustrating the planets of the solar system, can be viewed not only in the usual way, but also upside down! No wonder the second name of the project is "Turning heads".
Thomas Woodruff is an artist who has been accused of an excessive love of visual excesses. His new series is a dazzling parade of magical otherworldly, glorifying the fantasy world of supernatural beauty. This is where the artist's unique manner of applying paint in many layers and using muted tones is manifested.
The impetus for the creation of the project was Alzheimer's disease, diagnosed with a friend of Thomas. A friend started solving puzzles to keep his mind sharp, and Woodcraff, observing this, decided to create his own puzzle, where one character can turn into another by simply turning the picture over. Having perfected the technique of creating "double" drawings, the artist decided to create a series of paintings with images of planets, using Gustav Holst's symphonic suite "Planets" as inspiration.
At the exhibition of Thomas Woodruff's work at the P. P. O. W Gallery (New York), impeccable images, executed on black silk, were equipped with motors and thus rotated.
The sun is the final picture of the project. The image shows 12 heads with many faces surrounded by humanoid sunflowers and a glowing ball in the center. This difficult to understand work has combined European, Asian and tribal elements of painting into a coherent whole, which at first glance seems crazy, but makes you wonder about the hidden meaning of things.

Why Nicholas I legalized "priestesses of love", and how the system worked after the introduction of "yellow tickets"
In the first half of the 19th century, the problem of sexually transmitted diseases truly took on the character of an epidemic: up to 15% of soldiers and citizens in large cities were infected with syphilis.
