Many artists try to make a storehouse of riddles and secrets out of their works, so that the viewer thinks carefully about their meaning. Many go too far, turning their creativity into something incomprehensible. Some, for example, the French illustrator Jules Julian, manage to create interesting stylish drawings, very mysterious, but at the same time not heavy at all.
When artists manage to go beyond the modern laws of post-modernism, according to which, apparently, the more disgusting art, the more popular it is, and to create excellent conceptual works, such as caricatures by James Bennett, it is always a great success. Jules Julian's illustrations are simple and layered at the same time, but it seems that they are unlikely to be understood by a wide range of people. However, given the number of exhibitions that have passed and are coming, the popularity that he has is enough for Jules.
His series of illustrations "Rebus", representing multi-colored faces with some unusual pattern on them, was printed on the badges. His works have been exhibited in Japan, USA, Australia, and many European countries. He was featured in Photoshop creative magazine, Computer arts magazine, Vogue and dozens of other publications from around the world. Apparently, such creativity still finds a response, and this cannot but rejoice - when the combination of simplicity and conceptuality, minimalism and many details, hidden meaning and the obvious becomes popular, but does not represent anything disgusting, there is a positive change in society.
Jules Julian's work and news about his exhibitions can be viewed on the illustrator's official website.

People paint in different ways and on a wide variety of surfaces. But to believe that any image is an expression of creative thought is not worth it.
