Regardless of what time of day is favorite for each of us, it is difficult to disagree with the fact that the night city is filled with some special atmosphere of charm. The lights of a big city beckon, call, promise, wink, deceive, disappoint, but do not leave anyone indifferent. Artist Mreeuh Chang dedicated to them a series of paintings entitled "Traffic", which depicts her view of the city at night through the glass of a car.
The pictures of the young artist are painted with acrylics, and Mriu Chang used pieces of wood or road signs found among unnecessary trash as canvases. “My goal was to capture the effects of city lights that sparkle in the city space like man-made constellations,” she says.
The personality of the artist is quite interesting. To begin with, she is only 18 years old and "Mriu Chang" is almost (according to the girl herself) her real name. She grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, but says she doesn't like living in one place, preferring constant moving, travel and a change of scenery. The girl claims that she suffers from a mild form of schizophrenia, and describes herself as an extremely stubborn person.
Mriu Chang draws primarily in order to create her own world, in which there will be everything that she lacks in the world of the present. But the artist has another reason for her creativity: “When you die, your mobile phone continues to work, your house continues to stand, and your friends - to move, but your vision of the world dies with you. Creativity is a very small step towards immortality."
Besides painting, Mriu Chang is also attracted by the art of photography. But no matter what she does, the girl draws inspiration from the people around her - their relationship is at the heart of any of her work, the artist assures.
