There is such a profession and such a worldview - an artist. And there is such a profession - an artist with light. Here are the brightest (in the literal and figurative sense of the word!) Representatives of this profession. Bruce Munrowho recently created light installation "Forest of Light" at Longwood Gardens Park in Pennsylvania. Light is quite a decent material from which you can make artwork. Who does not believe, let him turn to the work of the Englishman Bruce Munro. For example, to his work "Light Shower" ("Light shower"), installed in Salisbury Cathedral, or "CD Sea", which is a huge "sea" of six hundred thousand CDs that reflect sunlight and moonlight.
And his new work, presented in the Longwood Gardens Park of Pennsylvania, is designed to enjoy its contemplation exclusively in the dark. After all, this work is luminous!
The installation "Forest of Light" (this is how its original name "Forest of Light" is translated) consists of twenty thousand artificial stems, lined up in dense rows along one of the paths in Longwood Gardens park for a whole kilometer! These stems are made of translucent acrylic, hand-painted with different colors, and each of them is crowned with a round "head".
Moreover, each of these stems is connected via a fiber-optic channel to a single 100-watt light source. So when the latter is turned on, all twenty thousand elements of the "Forest of Light" installation start to glow. And different colors of the stems allow them to glow very unevenly, but insanely beautiful!
“This installation was inspired by the unrivaled beauty of Longwood Gardens. It was interesting to translate into reality an artistic idea, the task of which is to actualize the natural beauty of nature. And I hope the audience will appreciate my attempt to merge light and landscape together! - This is how the creator, British artist Bruce Munroe, explains the idea of the installation “Forest of Light”.
