The members of the 501 Legion, a group of enthusiasts who do good deeds in the costumes of the heroes from the legendary film, decided to fix this. Australian Jacob French, one of the many members of the group, decided to organize charity event in support of sick children … A guy in full combat gear of an imperial stormtrooper covered the path from Perth to Sydney (5000 km)! It took him 9 months and 7 pairs of shoes, but Jacob managed to collect $ 100,000!
Jacob does not like walking, but for the sake of a noble goal he decided to overcome himself. He made his first stormtrooper suit for the marathon in October 2010, but soon became convinced that the armor was too bulky. Then Jacob set out to find a lighter suit, and also began to train regularly.
Last summer, Jacob announced his intention to go camping in such unusual attire to attract the attention of others and raise as much money as possible to help the children. The attack aircraft was launched in July 2011: it walked five days a week (excluding weekends), devoting to walking for 10 hours a day. Jacob carried a special trolley with him, which he used to transport clothes and equipment.
The unusual tourist attracted the attention of passers-by; many motorists offered to give him a lift. Jacob's Facebook page became very popular, thousands of people left comments and showed support for the purposeful guy. Many believe that Jacob's act will inspire other people to do good deeds, as well as motivate to help those who need it.
During the trip, the guy lost 12 kg. Despite the fact that he managed to brilliantly cope with the task, the Australian admits that it was beyond his strength to love walking. At the end of the trip, Jacob visited the Children's Hospital in Sydney, where he was accepted as a real hero! At first glance, Jacob's idea, which was funny, turned out to be very productive. It's great when people do not hesitate to look stupid or ridiculous, trying to help their loved ones! Another striking example of this is New York photographer Bob Carey, who created a series of self-portraits in a ballet tutu to save his wife!
