Colour pencils created in order to draw colorful images with them. But an artist from Miami strongly disagrees with this. Federico Uribethat uses the designated items to create from them sculptures … Mostly edible.
The work of the American author Federico Uribe is already known to the readers of the site Culturology. Ru thanks to his sculptures made from household items. However, in a new series of his works, he no longer uses pieces of furniture, clothing and other elements of the interior and exterior, but colored pencils.
Moreover, Federico Uribe does not paint with them. He does not even use their colored shavings for drawing, as Kyle Bean does. This sculptor creates works directly from the pencils themselves.
Before starting work on each new sculpture, Federico Uribe enters the stationery store, from where he rakes out all the colored pencils of one or more colors available there (depending on whether his work will be monochrome or multi-colored). Then he sharpens these objects and combines hundreds or even thousands of them into one structure.
For some reason, Federico Uribe makes edible things best from colored pencils: fruits, vegetables, pastries. In a series of works presented on our website, you can see an orange slice, ice cream in a waffle cup, a bitten donut and some other products.
However, not only food is limited to Uribe in his "pencil" creativity. He also creates human figures from this unusual material and even a life-size multi-colored traffic light.
