Artist Robin Urton creates paintings that combine human daydreaming, sacred myths and spiritual traditions. Her art is designed to open hearts towards beauty and teach people to notice traces of the divine presence in everyday life. The artist herself calls her work "dreamy meditation". Well, shall we meditate?
“I paint an unpredictable world that unfolds in front of me and in which amazing things can happen. I start with impulse, vague idea, or single image. I try not to think about what I am creating,”says Robin. She is convinced that all her paintings tell about certain states of consciousness. And although they reveal, first of all, the states of the artist herself, Robin is sure that other people will be able to find in them something that is close and understandable to them.
Robin began her acquaintance with art with oil painting on canvas, and also tried to paint on wood and glass. Currently, the artist has made her choice in favor of framed organic glass. Robin Yurton tries to work in the style of free association, and sometimes collage or drawing, but there are no exact plans: any idea can change as soon as the creative process begins.
The artist shows interest in the fundamentals of psychology, spirituality, metaphysics, natural sciences and art history. All these themes, according to Robin, somehow influence her work and are seen in her works.
Robin Yurton was born in Eugene (Oregon, USA) and grew up in Kansas City and San Antonio. Recently she lived in Taos (New Mexico), and now the artist lives in Portland (Oregon). Besides painting, Robin is also involved in web design and university teaching. You can learn more about the artist on the website.
