Animals and birds, which are created by the Krasnoyarsk master Sergey Bobkov, seem so alive that at the first try it is impossible to determine the material from which they are made. And when you find out the truth, you cannot believe for a long time that the lightest feathers and fluffy fur of forest dwellers are made of ordinary wood shavings.
The work of the master begins long before he touches the wood and the instrument. First, Sergei sits down to books and learns about the animal that he is going to create, everything that can be learned about it at all. Features of the anatomical structure, habits, habitats … Probably, it is thanks to such a thorough preparation that the master's work is obtained not only alive, but also surprisingly similar to the original: the size of animals, the configuration of feathers, even the weight of wooden items - everything is as close to reality as possible.
The technology for creating wooden animals is unique. Sergey Bobkov invented it himself, moreover, he patented his invention, and this is a real event for the world of arts and crafts.
In the process of creating forest dwellers, the master will first receive shavings from a wooden block, which is first soaked in water for several days. Then feathers or fur are "collected" from the shavings. This process is very laborious, because the number of necessary shavings is in the thousands and all of them must be glued separately. So, to create a sable, Sergei needed 30 thousand villi from a tree, and for a golden eagle - more than seven thousand feathers. Not surprisingly, the process of creating a single figurine takes weeks or even months.
Sergey Bobkov is an ordinary teacher of the Kozhanovskaya secondary school. He has been creating his art products from wood shavings for five years together with his son Artyom and exhibiting them in the school museum. The master does not sell his works, although there are many who want to buy.
