In our world, where there are thousands of species of animals and plants, only man decided to call himself the king of nature. We build cities, we flew to Space, we invented the Internet … But are we as strong as we want to seem? The French photographer Ruben Brulat assures that everything is not so simple and as proof he offers us a number of photographs.
The author's series, titled "Primates", includes eight photographs, each of which depicts a naked person in the wild. Moreover, nature amazes with its grandeur and power, and man - with its defenselessness.
Primates portrays the vulnerability of man in his natural environment, but at the same time emphasizes the inextricable links between man and nature. "This connection is a part of each of us, it is a connection at the molecular level," - says about his venture Ruben Brulat. And he adds: “Man as a species is not something special. It is on a par with other species."
The author did not use models or assistants to create photographs. All pictures show him. To begin with, he found a place to shoot, then set up a camera and set a timer for 10 minutes. During this time, Ruben Brulat undressed, ran to the desired point and took the necessary pose. “It was cold and painful,” says the author, “but I didn't feel it. I liked what I was doing."
Ruben Brulat is a 21-year-old photographer from Paris. He began to take professional photography about two years ago, and since then, according to the author, this occupation has become his real passion, and he simply cannot stop. More information about the photographer and his other projects can be found on the website.
