It's hard to explain why America is full of different copies of Stonehenge. Being thousands of kilometers from England, residents of small American towns for some reason build their own stone structures, sometimes almost copying the original, sometimes only inspired by it. Today we will tell you about the most famous American Stonehenge. So, welcome - Karhenge!
Carhenge - derived from the words "car" - a car and "Stonehenge" - Stonehenge. The name, perhaps, is somewhat unusual for our ear, but it very accurately reflects the essence of the structure: unlike its British original, Carhenge is made not of stones, but of old cars.
Karhenge was built in 1987 in Nebraska. Its author Jim Reinders created a structure in memory of his deceased father next to his farm. It took 38 cars to build Karhenge, which form a circle with a diameter of 29 meters. Some of them are dug vertically into the ground, others are placed on top, thus forming "arches". All cars are painted with gray spray paint.
Jim Reynders has been experimenting with unusual and interesting art forms all his life. At one time he lived in England and had the opportunity to thoroughly study Stonehenge, its appearance and history. Since then, he has not abandoned the desire to recreate the famous building in his homeland, which he subsequently did. The accumulated knowledge about the real Stonehenge helped Jim in the implementation of an unusual idea: Carhenge completely repeats the shape, proportions and size of the original.
Karhenge has become a fairly popular tourist attraction. He also appears in films, music videos, and television shows.

Made in China: a copy of the Austrian village of Hallstatt in the Middle Kingdom
No one will argue that the 21st century began under the motto: "Made in China". We are all so used to this cliché that it seems like the Chinese can do anything. We started with semi-basement sewing workshops and cheap equipment, continued with high technologies. The next step is the most ambitious step: from now on, the stamp "Made in China" can be put not only on goods, but also on entire villages. Recently, in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, the village of Hallstatt appeared - an exact copy of the Austrian
