The passion for food art, or the creation of works of art from products, is becoming more and more common nowadays. If earlier this direction was amazing in itself, now artists have to show more and more imagination and ingenuity in order to amaze the audience. For example, what does burnt toast mean to each of us? Probably ruined breakfast, nothing more. But for the Italian David Reimondo, refried slices of bread are the material from which he creates.

The imaging technology is quite simple. The author toasts the slices of bread until black, covering individual areas with aluminum fragments, leaving the desired areas white. The paintings are then assembled from separate toasts, like a mosaic, and placed in transparent forms that serve a double function: on the one hand, they protect the images from damage, and on the other, they are designed to emphasize the beauty of the images.

Among the works of David Raymondo there are many variations on the theme of the map of the world. The second area to which he pays special attention is the connection between the real and virtual worlds, man and computer, physical and virtual identities.

Using bread as a painting material is a risky step. Someone will like the work, but someone will certainly accuse the artist of blasphemy. And yet David does not listen to anyone and collects his mosaics from toasts. Whether his work can be called a work of art is a controversial question. But if you liked at least one of them, then the author did not work in vain.
